Posts edit time - too short?[ 21 votes ]
1. Keep as is with 30min to edit posts 8 / 38%
2. Increase to 1 hour edit time 5 / 24%
3. Increase to 1 day edit time 2 / 10%
4. Indefinite edit time (but will show edited by with edit date/time) 6 / 29%

I'm in a privileged position in that I can edit my posts (and others Grin ) indefinitely, but until tonight the edit time was limited to 15mins which in some ways is good as it stops members back tracking on posts that lead to piss taking. I've increased this time to 30mins now but maybe there's a need for something different which I wouldn't know about given my aforementioned rights Wink

That said, it also prevents members taking their time to adjust more complex/in depth posts which can work against some types of threads such as renovation/rebuild, workshop or for sale threads were pics might want to be added later.

We're a democracy here so.....

I've voted for 30 minutes because having a longer time could lead to all sorts of confusion if people reply to posts that subsequently get edited and the threads could end up being impossible to follow.

I recon an hour is enough for anyone to edit any mistakes.

15 minutes edit time was taking the p155 at times. Grin

Having said that, not sure what the real danger is of letting it be longer. Someone wants to play games? Get a life.

what IS mildly irritating is that if you are doing a post which takes longer to put together in the first place, or you need to break off, and return to it later, when you try to submit it, you get the fuck-off message and the post is lost. Must drive ondablade mad Wink

1 hour is plenty I would say. If I haven't got my post done within an hour I lose track of what I was talking about an subsequently never finish the post because I've found something more interesting to look at lol.
