I have two Suzuki T350 engines to build. One for a mate and a second for myself. Dragging my feet on the restoration of the 350 that I bought a year ago. Mot'd the bike and registered it. Took a few bits off and stripped the motor. Arranged for another mate to paint the tank and panels and more or less stopped.
Also visited a friend near Yarmouth and stripped his engine. Both of these went to have the cranks rebuilt. New seals, bearings etc. At the same time, they were both rebored and had pistons supplied. Mates engine needed +1.5 size. There were specially made by Wiseco. Not a cheap exercise and took a fair time before they appeared fron the US.
All the parts were picked up last Friday, so I need to get cracking.

I bet those made to order forged Wisecos weren't cheap!
Probably not an issue for yours but the rebore spec on the ones I had for a kawasaki 750 turbo were a tad too tight

I guess £310 plus the dreaded for the pistons and a rebore is not as silly as it could have been, but at least they are done.

Engine number 1 (my mates)

This is what was picked up

Cases, barrels and heads were all vapour blasted while the other work was going on. A good blow out with compressed air and poking about with pipe cleaners made sure the various oil ways etc were clean. All the oil seals were replaced for peace of mind.
Pretty straight forward as its a two stroke. None of those valvy things to worry about think

Need to fit barrels, pistons and heads next. Then the generator etc. Sort the timing (remember points eek ) eek

Nothing wrong with points as long as you keep an eye on them. If electronic ign goes south, you need a van... think

Stalled at the moiment as it needs a bit of surgery. The normal max oversize is +1.0mm and this one is 1.5. Causes a problem with the piston fitting down the throats of the top casing. Have stripped it out again and will have to adjust the opening to suit the pistons.

All good fun think ....

Did an epic trip on Saturday, down to Eastborne to drop a bike and pick up another, then to Gt Yarmouth to drop the second bike and pick up my new toy. Back home again. About 450 miles. Long day Cool

Hardly honing, Used a grinding tool on my drill and relieved some aluminium off the case. Fitted barrels and passed piston down to check clearance. Repeat till clear.

All done now and back to where I was before this reared its head.
