As per title: it doesn't need to be free but it needs to be easy to use.
I've seen the Garmin software my brother has and it's a complete nightmare to use. No Finger

Thanks.

Sorry, I'm a Garmin Basecamp man myself.
I know what you mean about not being easy to use but once you master it it's a cracking piece of software.

Thanks a lot for the tips but I've looked into them and none is what I am looking for.

Guess I should set up my own startup to scam venture capitalists out of their hard-earned mo... I mean, come up with exactly the route planning software I have in mind. Wink

Basically I need something to leave behind "just in case" since apparently being traced by phone every single step of the way is not enough. think

I've long used transparent sheets pinned on an atlas to draw a daily itinerary but it's time-consuming and proper transparent A4 sheets are getting hard to come by these days.

Honestly I wouldn't bother with it since where I go is my business alone, but after almost my brother "caused" an international crisis last year by going in an area with poor phone coverage for several days I want to explore my options.
