Manual (I think the right model) for reference. Theres a section mentioning "adding a 2.5" disk" as according to the diagram, there's space under the 500GB to mount a 2.5" disk....you can sort this later/tomorrow, SSD loosly in the case connected up is fine for now

1) connect SSD to the DARK BLUE 'Primary' sata port (see image if thats the correct layout)
2) Connect 500GB disk to one of the other 2 SATA ports
3) turn PC on and as soon as its on, start tapping F10 repeatedly and you should get the BIOS menu or a menu that allows you to choose to enter the bios
4) once in the bios, look for Storage section and in there hopefully is a section named BOOT ORDER or similar listing both disks and the DVD drive (and maybe USB boot)
5) Change the boot order so that the 500GB disk is listed first, save and exit and it should boot the 500GB with Win10 and internet etc

More for anyone else reading and Slaz when he gets back on the forum but work in progress report and new plan of attack

1) make Win10 image to F:\IMAGE on SSD
2) Make Win7 image of SSD to 500GB disk (this is safe copy of Bazas old Win7 and data)
3) copy Win10 image to 500GB disk (safe copy of base Win10)
4) Restore Win10 image from 500GB disk to SSD
5) Shutdown, then power back on
6) F10 to enter BIOS and change boot order so the SATA 0 (Samsung SSD) is higher up the list than SATA 1 (500GB HD)
7) Save and Exit
8) Windows 10 should now boot off the SSD...hopefully much quicker
9) Copy stuff from old Win7 image thats on the 500GB disk to the correct folders on Win10

Should be fine on its side, normally if there are vents on one of the sides, that would be the side that would face up to allow venting of the warm air out but looking at pics the case doesn't have vents on either of the 2 sides so you'll be fine sitting it on which ever side suits your desk Thumbs Up

Good to hear your happy. Let me know if you need any help with anything.

BTW the latest Windows 10 (May 2019 version) is now available. Its got a few changes although most are hard to notice unless you look and know what the previous version had.

With Windows 10 while you get Windows updates usually once a month like Windows 7 etc, twice a year they release a complete new build. When your PC installs this it will keep everythign as before program/data wise but completely refresh Windows 10. You can force this update by going to https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 and clicking Update now and it'll download the tool to do it (takes 1-2 hours on average but you can work away while its downloading).

or just wait and at some point in the next month, your normal Windows update will update it for you

^^ this is just for info in case the next windows update you get seems to be taking a long time in which case it'll probably be this big twice yearly refresh. I did mine on Friday. This is SETTINGS -> UPDATE & SECURITY -> OS BUILD INFO link

One small change in this new build is the Snipping tool (for screenshots) is now called Snip and Sketch and now has built in tools to do basic highlighting or drawing as per my shaky red circles Laugh
