Thanks folks, it's been hard work sorting what will work and what won't. The top yoke is going back to the machinist tomorrow for the handle bar riser pockets and top hat spacer for the stem.

I still have to align the wheels and make the spacers, but I can't really get on with it until I have the yoke finally sorted to have the front end on.

I'll be making the loom up again myself and converting it all to 12v from 6v, there is an off the shelf conversion kit for these nowadays, so not as complex as it may sound. I won't be running a battery, it'll be using a capacitor to start it then it's self generated spark with a lighting coil to supply the rest.

The swingarm now on the bike has come from Thailand, company over there makes a fair bit of kit for these 500's amoungst others. Wasn't cheap but a top quality bit of kit.

Tyres are road approved Flat Tracker race tyres, very soft and very wide!

It's already on the bike mate, It's in the last picture on the previous page.

The other swingarm was box section steel, this is hand-made annodised ally arm, which allows a wider rim.

I don't want to bore you with the details, but I have to centre the wheels, align the chain run and sprockets, get some discs made up to the measurments/offsets. I have an r1 caliper to use on the front, but at the moment it fouls the spokes, so more modding to be done.
There is still an awfull lot of work in this bike yet, but it will be worth the effort, as it'll be a one-off which is what I like. smile
