Hi,

I bought a cbr600f and he looks great but the exhaust sound is a bit disapointing.

So I bought an other demper: sc-project.
I didn't hear a difference so I took the db-killer out.
Someone said to me to change the airfilter, it would make more sound.
so I tryed to drive a few minutes without airfilter but still nothing.

Then I was thinking to change the katalysator but I can't find any parts for it.
To change the whole engine line is a bit to expensive to me.

So can someone help me please

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome. Hi

Just one friendly reminder: don't mess with the intake. Honda designs air boxes, ducts etc like nobody else and their air filters flow all the air your engine will ever need. Aftermarket filters are only good if you want to save a little money and even that's often debatable.

Having said that, your bike uses a detuned version of the 600RR mill, so the most noise you'll ever get is the same as a Super Stock 600 bike.
Modern bikes are designed from scratch with noise abatement in mind so they have "dampened" air boxes, thick engine cases and very quiet exhausts. Today I saw a brand new Panigale R with full Termignoni exhaust on the road and it made a minute fraction of the old "Ducati noise"... so you know what you are working against here. Wink

My advice: leave the noise alone and spend the money on extra fuel to get the most out of your bike. Thumbs Up

got a 2012 and had the same problem, tried sp engineering stubby and others, the downside is the cat kills it all on this bike,i removed the stock headers and replaced with black widow decat pipes at £300 also added used akrapovic end can at £300,so all in all £600 which is a lot,

mate has the same bike,he just cut the cat off the original headers and had a link pipe made up for a few ££ with the fitting for the o2 sensor and got a decent end can,he reckons all in cost him arounf £150 ,wish i knew that at the time.

on the plus side the sound is awesome compared with stock
