Yea, the previous owners had their mail delivered through the garage door - no letter flap on the front door. (Beemer getting MOT'd next week Slaz)
More width was necessary because the original garage only just took the car with very little room to get out.
Today we laid the concrete for the footings, happy with the progress over the last 7 days.

Day* 20:
Brickwork coming on leaps & bounds.
Yesterday saw the scaffolding go up to start on the rear of the house.
Here's the view of my widened & lengthened garage so far.

Day*= days builders actually on site.
They don't work weekends or bank holidays.

Thank guys, it's progressing well.
Day 40, Thursday 9th June:

http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x247/Panzerphil/image_zpsbt60lkbt.jpeg

Here's the view of the rear of our 'wraparound' today.
You're all invited for burgers & beers next summer, just park outside the guys on the right who objected to our initial plans.
Walls will be rendered white & roof completely renewed in original red tiles.

While the scaffolding is up it would be shame to miss out on a photo opportunity.

I like the greenhouse. Would like one here as well but there's not enough flat surface for it. Wink

my aunt used to live in Formby years ago when I was 10-14 or so. All I can recall is not far away is dunes and trees with red squirells in them which are far posher than the grey squirells the rest of us have to make do with.

Yup, there's a red squirrel reserve up in Pine Woods just a mile up the road. We regularly get visitors to our garden. I put up a feeder on the fence to the left at the rear of the garden.
I have a video of a visitor on my Instagram account Formby_Photos

Day 55
Roof 95% complete.
New windows & rendering should magically happen this week.
Work has started in the bathroom too.
Can't wait to move back in, I've effectively been without (away from) my bike for 5 years.
Our builder has given us a date to move back in but then we need to do all the little things before we're completely settled in.
