As above... currently running 120x70 & 190x55 Dunlop 212 GP Pro's 3/5 compound F/R, some new Dunlops out maybe fancy a change including going back to 180 rear, possibly a 180x60 213 GP Pro.

What are you guys running and why? What circuits/temperature ranges are you on?

I was running supercorsa's, using a 180/60 on the rear, normal UK temps, maybe not the latest tyre, but I always had faith in them and found them predictable with no untoward moments.

You are the first person I hear using a 190/55 on a 600. Wink

Stick to 180/55 rear, plenty of choices whenever you use fancy compounds or simple road racing tyres.

eek Aye?! Due to the sort of tyres we can get here.... it's actually pretty common. Dunlops are good, well priced and readily available, on he SS600 it's either fast road 180x55, 180x60 track/slick rubber or 190x55.... the 211/212 is designed for a 5.5" itch rim. Take a bit of setting up but stick like the proverbial to a blanket... whatever suits. Grin

they sound sticky. I have no experience of slicks on a bike but do know on my kart they take 2+ laps to start to work and thats with the full width in touch with the track every revolution. On the kart the sliding and opposite lock is fun but on a bike I dare not think about the state of my pants if my tyres slid that much eek Laugh

My advice, even in the desert with good temps, be sure to take it easy for 2+ laps. Then again, i might be talking bollox as the MotoGP/2/3 guys seem to do slow for them (but fast for us mortal) out laps and normally upto a fair old whack by the start of the 2nd lap on slicks think

Deffo Kermit... even the 212 GP Pro road legal (but effectively cut slicks) take about a lap and a half to two laps to get really up to temp.... its like someone's turned the grip and feel up from 8 to 11! Grin
