Hi there ,appreciate some help ,I have a xlr 125,which was running fine ,it started cutting out ,ive cleaned the carb,new plug,worked fine for about 20 miles ,I have since put a brand new carb on ,it starts on low rev for about 5 seconds then cuts out you can do this all night ,but it wont keep running ,please before I put a hammer to it thanks ivan.

Whats it doing now , is the plug looking black or is it running lean

Hi was the replacement carb exactly like the old one, were the jets already in the carb ,and were they the right size, what size were they, it seems to be running rich on the idle and choking on the throttle , what did you place the float height at,few questions there maybe slow jet screw needs adjusting to lean the mixture

Hi,the carb is exactly the same,i never checked the jet size ,or altered any of the settings as I thought they came set up ,but yes it does seem to be what you said ,if I hold the throttle on very low revs it runs for about 5 secs then cuts out ,but if I try to rev it slowly it cuts out right away ,maybe a few adjustments are required ,thanks again.

What kind of new carburetor did you use? think

Also does the bike immediately restarts after shutting down does it need to "rest" for a little while? think
