Hi folks i hope your all keeping as well as you can in
these bloody weird times

My broadband is crap atm,and that's putting it politely,im with Plusnet
and i not sure wether there reply is just up selling or true, this is there reply,

You are obviously a long way from your telephone exchange On ADSL your download synch rate is up to 6.5 Mbps, your actual data rate will be less than this. that is, pathetic in today's world. However, something has been done about it. If you upgrade to Fibre, which is currently available, your speed should increase about 20 fold to over 60 Mbps..

I dont know if it matters but i'm running

One PC
One Firestick
Two Iphones
One Alexa

I'm with Plusnet too, but on Broadband, absolutely awful customer services, when I changed to Fibre , they charged me £175 because I finished my Contract early, phoned them up to ask what was going on , they said they had made a mistake and would refund me ,took me 3 months to get it back, then the real trouble started ,I was offline longer than was on it, full weeks missing a one stage , got no refund during that time, I'm out of contract now ,but waiting to move house , wont be joining them again

We use Plusnet Fibre at work, in general no problems but every region/area will I guess get issues from time to time, some more than others.

I've experienced your ADSL2 speeds when we've used Teamviewer in the past, its really quite slow by modern standards given your distance from the exchange and while you don';t have so many devices, getting 5-6 times the download speed and much better upload speed would improve the experience a fair bit.....do you ever get buffering/pauses when watching stuff on the Firesticks?

I've checked Plusnets Fibre prices and apparently you can get 36Mbits down (unlimited data) for £22.99 a month. How does that compare with the ADSL2 your paying for as if only a bit more, I'd say its worth it as the Fibre speed is really only dependant the distance between your house and the BT cabinet probably somewhere on your road or neighbouring road so in general you tend to get a lot closer to the advertised speeds.
