Hi folks hope you’re all keeping well, this is a security question,
I’ve now taken the hard drive out, so I take it it’s now safe to
take to the tip 🤔🤔

No mate, if it's anything like around here you'll be heavily fined for driving to the déchetterie. No Finger

Just do your civic duty and dump it along the road, preferably in the driveway of some local politician and after setting it on fire. Wink

It's already over here, mate. Lockdown will start to be lifted next week already and by May 18 everything should be open bar gyms and swimming pools. Like I care about either: just let me ride. Laugh

To get back at your PC, without hard disk it's completely safe to dispose of.

Smash the shite out of it, last one I scrapped I stripped apart , destroyed the disc/s then chucked it in peices.

Which drive the one that came with your new new PC but replaced by the SSD and now being used for backups or the other older one from the original PC?

I think the other older one may have been failing but Quazi is right, always take a large hammer to any disk you intend to throw away, a large magnet might do but its not half as satisfying Grin
