Recently my bike has started to run slightly lumpy when idling and when I use the throttle the power is not smooth and instead comes in lumps separated by half seconds of nothing. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi. Two quick ideas.

First, like most of us you are dealing with old fuel. It's a veritable nightmare this year for obvious reasons and high ethanol content is making things much worse. Look for your local service station where taxi/Uber/Lyft drivers fill up and get you gasoline there for a while since it's bound to be fresher than anywhere else. You may also try to drain the fuel tank completely dry and fill it again with fresh fuel.
Second, you may need to wipe clean the PGM-FI (aka ECU) flash memory: it's common on those late Euro2/early 3 Honda models. This is easier done than said: disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, reconnect and you are good to go.

Let us know how it works out for you.
