I've never seen one with a black tank badge. I am sure there's an interesting story behind it and that you will be happy to oblige. Wink

By the way what's that blur in the tank? think Wink

Can't be yours GB as its already clean and tidy, I thought you always bought bikes that look like crap and need attention then end up like that 3-6 months later?

btw the tank blur on the second pic looks like someone taking a piss against the house wall Laugh

Peeing up against the wall, no, way too cold for that eek

The black tank badges should be red for that bike. They will be changed soon as they are in a box of bits that came with the bike.

I had a look at it and liked it so much, I bought it. The price of the parts would come to more than I paid. Cool

Its a a bit of a hybrid, and classed as a Rocket Gold Star replica. The genuine thing is around 20K. eek

This one is basically a 57 Gold Star (DBD34) chassis with a 60 Super Rocket engine fitted. All the engine parts are genuine RGS as are the wheels, brakes, exhaust and just about everything else on the bike.
Goes well in the garage with the Honda, Suzuki and MG. No more room now though. Grin

If I remember well there was a truly enormous Taylor Dow front brake available for those bikes, even bigger than those monstruous 70's Fontana drum brakes. Those things must be worth a fortune nowadays and they probably wouldn't stop you when going 30mph. Laugh
